Conference Announcement
The Tolleson Union High School District is proud to continue
the Second Annual Advancing Student Achievement through
Building Capacity Conference. The conference will take place
on February 1, 2012 at Sierra Linda High School. This forum
is designed to foster robust collegial dialog facilitated by
dedicated TUHSD staff and collaborating partners who are
willing to share their experience and expertise. Commitment
and engagement by all stakeholders will ensure that the
conference is a meaningful professional development
experience yielding positive organizational change and
increases in student performance.
To support the diverse professional needs of the TUHSD
certified staff the conference seminars are based on ten
themes. The themes highlighted this year include:

This Conference and Seminar Registration Guide provides; (a)
an overview of the conference, (b) pertinent details about
the seminar registration process, and (c) supporting
information necessary to accurately identify the seminars
that are most aligned with your professional development
goals. Your comprehensive review and purposeful selection of
seminars is instrumental in making the conference a
meaningful experience for you and your peers.
Conference participants will engage in a formal seminar
registration process. This registration guide will provide
the information needed to successfully complete the
registration process.
A special thanks to the conference presenters and TUHSD
staff who actively participated in the development of this
conference. The presenters pledged to invest the time and
energy necessary to facilitate meaningful seminars. This
conference could not occur without their willingness to
develop and facilitate the over 200 plus sessions. During
the last six months, the Conference Development Committee,
the district and school leaders, and numerous other
dedicated individuals actively supported the conference
planning process. The final commitment necessary to make
this a superb conference comes from you. Your willingness to
capitalize on this opportunity by selecting and actively
engaging in the seminars will complete the process. Through
synergy - our capacity will increase and our students will
